A Taste of Fashion with ROAD Apparel & Whiskey Elements
I’m not necessarily a fan of whiskey, but I am a fan of men’s fashion. So when our Creative Director, Amy, invited me to a private event at ROAD Apparel in the City Centre Building in downtown Seattle, I was more than ready to do a little digging to find some classic menswear pieces (mostly for my husband, who hates shopping…).
Along with the business casual, rustic, plaid patterns and neutral tones of the men’s clothing, ROAD also debuted their women’s fall/holiday collection, labeled Punch. The women’s looks were more flowy with a boho chic theme in mostly dark and neutral tones. In addition to feeling the fabric of many of the clothing pieces, I spent some time admiring the finely crafted men’s boots by Wolverine and the beautifully stitched leather bags and backpacks by Will Leather Goods.
I was also brave enough to try two shots of the whiskey, one straight and one treated with Time and Oak Whiskey Elements. Since my first taste of whiskey (at a high school party over ten years ago), I’ve decided to stay away from it. This taste attempt was no different. The initial shot was hard to take and the second shot didn’t taste any different, but Whiskey Elements is supposed to smooth out the taste. I’d encourage anyone with a stronger stomach to try it, but needless today, I spent a few minutes at the hors-d'oeuvres table getting the taste out of my mouth.
Overall, the event was pretty low key and I even had the chance to meet the owner of the store. I also picked out a few pieces for my husband to try (if I can figure out a way to drag him out of the house).
