Katy Flynn Seattle Summer Showcase

I met Katy Flynn while attending the Twig & Snip Fall Showcase at Sassafras last fall. She introduced me to her 4-Way Reversible Dress and I immediately fell in love. One dress you can wear four different ways? Sign me up! I didn’t purchase a dress that day, but I made sure to put it on my wish list. Cut to last week when I received a personal invitation from Katy herself to stop by Sassafras for her summer showcase.

The showcase took place from Friday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 6th. I decided to take a weekend drive to Seattle on Sunday afternoon to get a little shopping done. If you’ve never been to Sassafras, it’s the perfect boutique to shop for clothing and accessories made by some of Seattle’s most talented local designers. As soon as I made my way into the store, I made a beeline for Katy and her rack of amazing dresses made of rayon jersey, stretch lace, and bamboo jersey.

“I’m curvy, so I like to design for curvy women,” Katy explained as I stood at the rack wearing one of the reversible dresses and feeling super comfortable.

As a curvy woman myself, I’m usually drawn to dresses that show off my curves while still keeping everything covered so this dress is perfect for me. This time, I decided not to leave without a dress in hand and I’m so excited to style the dress for work, some fun events I’ll be attending, and for my trip to New Orleans next month.
