Twig and Snip Fall Showcase at Sassafras

Clothing designer, Sara Breakfield of Twig and Snip held a fall showcase at Sassafras this weekend. I decided to stop by after my scheduled Seattle Fashion Week team meeting and check out her latest collection. I was introduced to Twig and Snip earlier this year when Sara partnered with House of Halm and Morifu for runway shows at Seattle Fashion Week 2015. Later, I met Sara at her graduation portfolio show at The Art Institute of Seattle. Since then I’ve been keeping an eye on her collections and was thrilled to see her at one of the Seattle Fashion Week Designer Reviews.

Sara is currently selling her pieces at Sassafras, an amazing boutique located in Belltown housing collections from many local designers. I was very smitten with her adorable romper design (second photo group below, first look) which would be perfect for spring. I also had the opportunity to meet Katy Flynn, the designer behind KFLY Seattle, who creates a 4-Way Reversible Bamboo Dress that I’m totally in love with. I didn’t purchase it today, but it’s definitely on my Christmas list.

Here are some photos I shot from Sara’s showcase:

“I bring back pieces of that vibrancy to treasure and I’m constantly gathering up interesting plants, seeds, shells, and feathers; anything that catches my eye and wants to come home.  That is the beginning of every piece I create.  I enjoy creating plant-dyed garments with reclaimed fabric, and mixed media artwork with these found nature artifacts to create something truly magical for the viewer to behold.” Read more here.
