#FashionRoadTrip to FashioNXT 2017
I was in desperate need of a mini-vacay after putting in countless hours at my full-time job. So I decided to take a fashion road trip down to Portland to attend the Friday night collections at FashioNXT. Luckily, Portland is only two and a half hours from Seattle so I wasn't dead in the car, but it was definitely enough time for me to clear my head and reset myself.
After a delicious lunch at Stanford's and a disco nap at my hotel, I glammed up and made my way to the show. Friday night's show included collections from Michelle Lesniak, Gustavo Apiti Couture, Nuciano, TR Brown, MXN Fashion, and Project Runway Season 7 winner Seth Aaron. All of the collections were very unique. I hadn't seen a Michelle Lesniak collection on the runway since my days at Seattle Fashion Week in 2015 so it was great to see some interesting pieces from her.
I was also proud to see Gustavo Apiti's collection yet again after witnessing the premiere of his latest collection at the Independent Designer Runway Show at Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection. This time, his collection was paired with the most sparkling clutches from Nuciano. My favorite collection of the night, however, had to be TR Brown. It was the most cohesive and the looks definitely matched my personal style.
Even though I only attended one night of shows, I was very impressed and will definitely plan on attending all of the shows next year! Let me know if you want to tag along for a fun fashion road trip!
