Improve Your Next Style Event with an Attendee Survey

Improve Your Next Style Event with an Attendee Survey

If you’re not sure what details to include in your next fashion event, an event survey can help. Surveys give event producers an efficient way to gather feedback from attendees and make adjustments to enhance the overall experience for upcoming events.

Survey Creation

There are plenty of survey platforms out there. Some of the most popular are Survey Monkey, Google Forms, Jotform, and MailChimp. If you’re a whiz at editing PDF files, you can even create a fillable PDF survey and have your attendees email them back to you or upload them to a shared Dropbox folder.

Once you’ve gathered your responses from your audience, review them with your team and brainstorm ways to implement more of what your attendees want to see at future events. So what types of surveys should you send to your guests?

Demographic Surveys

Demographic surveys are geared more towards gathering information to include in your sponsorship deck. This data can include the average age range of your attendees, where most of your guests live, their purchasing habits, employment status, and income information.

The demographic survey can also serve as a pre-event survey if you choose to ask guests about their event expectations and desires. Sponsors may be a huge help in bringing these expectations to live with sponsor activations.

Post-Event Surveys

Post-event surveys are focused on the overall experience of your attendees. You’ll want to find out information about your marketing efforts, if the information shared at the event was vital to your audience, and even the general impression of your brand.

Not sure which questions to ask? Review a few examples below. Make sure to only include the questions (10 maximum) that are the most relevant to your event and send a link to the survey via email within 24 hours of the end of your event.

Overall Impression

  • Overall, how would you rate the event?

  • How likely are you to recommend this event to a friend/colleague?

  • How organized was the event?

  • Was the event too long, too short, or just right?

Specific Experience

  • Were you able to easily find the venue?

  • How did you get to the event? (private vehicle, rideshare, public transportation)

  • Were you satisfied with the event venue?

  • Were you satisfied with the quality of attendees?

  • Which speakers, sponsors and/or vendors stood out to you?

  • Were you satisfied with the food/beverages provided?

  • How helpful was the staff?

  • Were the restrooms easy to access?

  • Was there enough time for networking?

  • Did you make a purchase during the event?

  • How can we improve this event in the future?

Marketing Efforts

  • How did you hear about the event?

  • Why did you decide to attend?

  • Did you participate in the social media contest?

  • Did you see any print or digital advertisements for this event? If so, where?

Survey Incentives

You can also offer attendees an incentive to complete the survey with a chance to win a gift, special discount, or two free tickets to your next event with an online raffle. This is another place where your sponsor activations could come in handy.

Don’t start planning your next event without knowing exactly what your potential attendees want to see from you. Taking their suggestions into account will ensure that you provide a valuable experience for them and build your customer loyalty.
