The So Crazy Good Event presented by Neiman Marcus

Ok, here's something I never thought I'd be excited to say... the 80's are back! Neiman Marcus hosted The So Crazy Good Event last night in Bellevue and I couldn't have been happier with the looks that came down the runway. The event was hosted and styled by Neiman Marcus' Visual Lead, Darryl Thompson, who decided there was no better way to celebrate his birthday than with some throwback 80's fashion trends with a modern feel. The theme of the night was "empowerment" and the looks showcased that perfectly. This season's must-haves for both men and women included reds, layers, pantyhose, wide pants, broad shoulders, velvet, metallics, leopard print, plaid, camouflage, and sock booties. All of the looks exuded a certain boldness and confidence, which I loved. They also reminded me of the looks from the film Atomic Blonde, which I had the pleasure of seeing on my birthday a few weeks ago. Not only is Charlize Theron one of my favorite actresses, but I love every single look she wore in the film, including her wide-leg pants with black booties and those fabulous red pumps that she used to kick some serious ass in the backseat of a car.

This show has me reconsidering my style choices for the upcoming fall fashion season. Although, I'm not sure how much my feet would love me if I squeezed them into some leather booties for more than thirty minutes. Oh well, beauty is pain. I'm inspired to update my closet with some of these 80s-themed pieces. The looks are now available at Neiman Marcus, 11111 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, so feel free to stop by or shop online for your favorite men's and women's pieces today!
